Several of you guys have written since I posted the "Xmas in NY" clip from Navy Blue last week, identifying the tune for me - a big THANKS, and an even bigger SORRY I DIDN'T WRITE back and thank you. Was hoping to nab the tune from SOULSEEK and post it, got distracted with, well, life, but then this morning, another emailer sent the tune, so here it is - SPACE's mAGIC fLY.

Next week, the day after Christmas in fact, will be the 30th anniversary of the release of the film I've probably yapped about most here - Joe Gage's El Paso Wrecking Corp. Often the "discussion" has been about the missing footage from the scene subtitled Fred Halsted, the Boy and His Dad, with Mike Morris. But folks, I've been holding out on you! There's another scene with missing footage, even harder to come by, that few of us who hadn't seen it in the theatres have ever seen, and seems to ahve only made it onto video tape in the nearly impossible to come by TMX (topman video-x) early 1980's release. But of course, for now anyway, I'm going to show you the EDITED SCENE. But the un-edited scene is a great watersports scene, and we'll just have to come back to that at another time, perhaps after the new year. Just remember, it's one of those dark night scenes, so turn off the lights, and try to watch in "full screen" to really get the full effect of this fantasy sequence between Keith Anthoni and Ken Brown.

Alas, my neglect is not for the usual reasons (laziness, no inspiration, nothing to say or even sell), but for the more recent reason - work. My workplace is in the middle of a big move, and this weekend was the first big piece of it. today will be the 11th day in a row working, but I will be enjoying a 3-day weekend soon (sat-mon). Not that I will necessarily make up for lost time here, as I must do my neglected household chores - laundry, food shopping, mopping, etc. Maybe in my boxer short and loud rock'n'roll playing (the beautiful BF says I can mention my nude housecleaning only if I videotape it for him, and let no one - NO ONE! - else see). Then, perhaps, on to the usual posting of that same old Bjork Holiday tune, the same ol' Divine cha-cha-heels clip, and a silly naked and/or gay Santa or two.

I like this trailer - there's at least one other version out there, someday I'll have both side by side - no voiceover, just cool music (BTW - any one know who did the tune?), great editing (and Richard Locke in the mensroom gloryhole!) Quality, not quantity. Sigh. These two adorable men appeared in only one film together, Colt's Killer & Butch. Killer Joe appeared in only one other film, COLT's Gunner & Killer, paired with Gunner Hyde.
Butch Barnes (AKA Rick Masters) appeared in only 2 other films, FOX Studio's Furlough with Mario Venzai, Dennis Costa (part the Muscle Up tape), and NOVA FILM's super hot HOT LUNCH as Rick Masters, paired with Todd Russell - where I swear Butch, er, Rick, is wearing the same scuffed boots and thick woolly socks as he does in this Colt film.

Nope, today the picture has nothing whatsoever with stuff I'm hawking on eBay. ...but I'm selling this video on eBay, (auction item #180176936360, ends SUNDAY Nov 11th) and thought it was a good time to re-show this great clip (Doug Weston is rarely shown off this well), and the rest of the video has several fantastic scenes with Eric Stryker (known in COLT circles as Noel Kemp); and of course the real hottie in this movie is Brian Michaels, barking orders to the two blonds in the scene he does. ..but I digress... But dangit if I can't recall who the Italo-disco-synth tune is by, and where on my hard drive I've stored it. I know someone emailed me about it a year or two ago...

I can't say I was aware of his work in the 1970's, but first noticed his style in a series of greeting cards the the signature stark red background and often interracial male couples. Then, I saw his work, and those who copied him, in the likes of old After Dark magazines (wonder when I'll buckle under and sell those off....) And I also remember seeing the ad for this very magazine in the back of various Mandates and Honchos, featuring porn sensation George Payne (who you remember form such films as The Back Row, Navy Blue, Men Come First, Four Letters and of course, Centurians of Rome).
