false alarm?

I may be needlessly excited, but I stumbled upon something on the interweb this morning, and snatched this pic (ewwwww, i typed snatch!), a still I don't think I've seen before - at least not outside an actual long-gone porno theatre....

Richard Locke's first film

DREAMER

"You don't have to see DREAMER with someone you love, DREAMER is someone you love."

directed by: J. Clinton West (aka Jim West) (1975)

Starring: Clay Grant, Richard Locke (no beard, just the mustache!), Dave Daniel, and Mike Mitchell

I love this trailer! Nicely edited with great music, alternating the moods from the film from passionate to pensive..... Of course, it is yet another example of one of my pet peeves, soon to be detailed in my upcoming book - How HIS VIDEO has ruined our great gay vintage porno past. I've detailed a bit of my rant for this film here - DREAMER; no respect - basically an 87 minute film chopped down to 65 minutes! Grrrrrrr....

(bad pun with word LOCK in it, perhaps spelled locke)

why do something well if you can do it half-assed? The picture on the right is from a 1987 issue of MEN, and the one on the right I am guessing is from MANDATE, (but I can't be sure) - the motorcycle helmet he is wearing/sitting on alludes to his performance in the 1975 film Dreamer. The photo of him pulling on the condom is from the period when he came out of retirement in the mid 80's to promote safer sex.

Ah Men

mmmmmmm, Gordon Grant (too often his first name misspelled as Gordan, sigh) and Bill Cable (known to most Colt Studios fans as Stoner) in this ad from an Ah Men catalogue. Ah Men was a male clothing company that I believe started in the mid to late 60's, and survived at least til the late 70's. For you younger guys, think International Male or Undergear; for serious collectors of male clothing catalogs, think That Look from the 80's. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least two other porno stars who modeled for Ah Men, Paul Barresi and Ty Arthur. Looks like another item for that long list of "to be researched further projects" I'm compiling for when I lose my job.

Dear Daddy, my name is Brad. I go to school at NYU.....

DADDY DEAREST

"Dear Daddy, my name is Brad. I go to school at NYU. I'm 20 years old, horny, and I need a Daddy!"

directed by: Arthur J. Bressan, Jr. (1984)

Starring: Richard Locke, Daniel Holt, Johnny Dawes, Robert Vega, Dean Johnson, Andrew Dupree, and Jan Boscamp.

One of those film-within-a-film pornos that I love so much. This one is about porno filmmaker, Daniel Holt (obviously mirroring the real life director, Artie Bressan), making a porno called Fuck Me, Fuck Me Daddy. The film-within-a-film stars Dean Johnson (at the time a doorman at NYC's Boy Bar) as an NYU student who answers a personal ad for a daddy (portrayed by Richard Locke). Daddy Dearest explores the director's past relationships, and his fantasy that one day, one of the young stars of his films will be interested in him and stay after the porno film is completed.

pissy mood

A week or two ago I as out, by myself, drinking beer, leering at the handsome men, bouncing my head to the occasionally decent music, and thought I heard the DJ, or announcer, or someone loud announce that they'd be doing some sort of piss contest. As the night wore on, and the beers continued to fill my belly, he would pop back on the microphone, soliciting volunteers, but to no avail. Waiting in line for one of the two solo bathrooms, i was really in the mood to let it go, but somehow, alone, just didn't feel right. I looked around the room, saw several men who's faces I'd like to get to know, who, in fact, looked pissworthy. Yeah, that would be fun, I'd think, looking at bearded man with hairy chest peering out of his shirt - hoseyoudown, hosemedown. Look at goateed man over there, another pissyworty gentleman, those tight levis would look better wet. Sigh, into the bathroom by myself, realizing no one was looking back and thinking similar thoughts in my direction. I pulled it out and aimed downward. Playful mood was changing to something else, but as i caught myself in the mirror, I decided to change direction. Aiming up, hitting the reflection, my sourface changed briefly to a smirk. One of you out there could be in here, you could be having some serious fun with a decent man, but no, I'm in here alone; the sink, mirror, floor got flooded, bladder empty for now, buttonfly rebuttoned, door opens as I take one more look around and head out into the cold....
