French Lieutenant's Boys

Director: William Higgins (1983)

Starring: Phillip Andre, Doug Weston, Sergio Canali, Bud Patrick, Lee Landis, John Clark, Bobby Madison (AKA Brian Michaels), Theo Stead, Brian Thompson, Bjorn Didier, Arthur Phillips, Paul Dash, Cory Adams

"This film departs somewhat from William Higgins's usual format of golden California boys in non-stop sex by also starring the French Lieutenant's Boys. Phillip Andre is the French seaman looking for semen on his weekend shore leave in Hollywood. From the boulevards to the bedrooms, French sailors and Californians cement international relations by (doing it) all over the place."

disagreeable me
there are times i feel so undateable; like yesterday, apparently. I just get that winter 'everything sucks, why are you looking at me that way?' kinda feeling. I suppose money affects everything, and my temporary suspension of eBay sales during the holidays always means a period with no xtra cash coming in. But after a day of sorting and typing and scanning and researching, i am back in business. Just a handful of stuff as I write this, but more to come over the next couple of days.

It doesn't mean I don't love you, it doesn't mean I won't come back and
stay beside you
It only means I need a little time

gosh, I have no idea why I picked up this little 5-song EP CD some 15 years ago, but the last song on it, Side Of The Road is one of the most beautiful love songs I've ever heard. Not dizzy silly everything is OKEY DOKEY - but complicated, adult, real-life....

in effect, I love you, but I got my own stuff to deal with, please be patient, and don't take my moodiness or blues as something you need to fix or worry about; just know we'll be OK and trust that.

nobody knows I watch this

So, a couple weeks back, my boyfriend learned my shameful little secret. We had just come from seeing Brokeback Mountain, all three of us (my upstairs neighbor/good buddy Scott was with us) sorta stunned and insular by the film's affect on us, we desperately needed some diversion. Flick Flick Flick on the TV, I suggested seeing what LOGO had on. I was happy to see that NOAH'S ARC was on, a show I'd been watching late at night for awhile, but unsure if the BF would get into this silly gay soap opera. Oh gosh, no need to worry after all, we wound up watching about 5 episodes during a marathon, and then not long after I got back home from my Xmas trip to Chicago, BF is asking "when can we watch Noah's Arc, when can we watch Noah's Arc", like a cute little boy, and we lucked out, there was another marathon on Sunday night! We watched the first 4 episodes before falling asleep. But drats! Apparently, the series ended for the season about 2-3 weeks ago. Thankfully, there is another marathon on LOGO tonight, starting at 9:30pm EST - all 9 episodes (we missed the season finale).

If you're curious, check it out, as well as this site with episode guides, trivia, etc, and LOGO's not-very-helpful page. Also, this guy reports that it's gonna resume in the summer, and have episodes on iTunes sometime in January, not to mention a DVD release sometime in late winter/early spring.

Don't expect much other than a fun diversion, the writing is only slightly better than, and slightly less ridiculous than, Desperate Housewives (like that's hard to do), but there's a fun cast of characters - most horrifying wardrobe (NOAH), most annoying (CHANCE), most adorable face (WADE - not to mention most fuckable), ass you'd most want to eat, er, see (TREY), most hilarious (ALEX, by far).... you get the idea.

'Cause what matters most is the feeling
You get when you're hypnotized
Feeling creepy and sad and all the usual cold weather winter stuff, struggling to smile and get things done before I leave town for a few days.... but it's tough. And work is driving my f*#kin' crazy, and I just couldn't bare to be there the day after the Holiday Party with all the hungover co-workers who barely do any work on a normal day and..... so, I called out sick, and am sorting thru vinyl, and well, here's my favorite Fleetwood Mac song - Hypnotized - (not that the lyrics, or Fleetwood Mac, or anything has anything to do what I just typed, but well, ya know.....)

Welcome MySpace (ab)users
My "santa_torso" pic from a year or two back seems to be very popular on that site - over 600 error messages in one day from MySpace.com! So here's another SANTA for you to try to hotlink.

There's your Christmas, up there!

"Let's just say, that on this day a million years ago a dude was born that most of us think was magic,
but some don't - and that's OK; but we're probably right."

Don't spend your money to see the movie Brokeback Mountain

OK, enuf with the cowboys and the yakkity yack about that movie - after this!

Ebaying anything that's in the news (remember JEFF GANNON?) can be fun, and Brokeback+Mountain is no exception. The usual Bazillions of magazines (ZZZzzzzzz), a few autographs, a DVD of interviews, even a "LEVI Faded Denim Brokeback Mountain Jock/Dude Jacket" - but my personal favorite has to be the auction that says: "Don't spend your money to see the movie Brokeback Mountain when you can enjoy your own evening at home with Adam and Steve action figures!"

Lord I just can't keep from cryin'

NPR had a story the other day about the composer Gustavo Santoalalla, the man behind the music for Brokeback Mountain. Apparently, "the music was created first and used as an inspiration for the film's shooting and for the actors." check it out - The Sound of 'Brokeback Mountain'

(note to self: stop listening to the Willie Nelson tune from the soundtrack in the morning, it's a downer. It's f*^kin' great, but it's a downer)

....then the Cowboy comes to the rescue, riding in on his.... um...
Tenderfoot and the Cowboy

Starring: Jack Wrangler and Jim Rogers (1981?)

Now now, Gay Cowboys in the movies ain't nothing new - I've seen them bazillions of times in such films as: Tenderfoot and the Cowboy, Gold Rush Boys, Rawhide, Boots and Saddles (Oh wait, that's about the NYC gay bar, not cowboys), Beach Cowboy, Ranch Fever, Round Up, The Magnificent Cowboys, The Ranch Dudes, Ranch Hand, Mustang Ranch, not to mention films from COLT like - The Bonus (with Mike Davis, Gunther Keller, and Shadow), and Muscle Ranch!... and of course, Joe Gage's Heatstroke.

And with a name like JACK WRANGLER, this guy was BORN to be in cowboys films!

'Cause I never had too much money And I never been quite satisfied

I think the most surprising thing to me about the film Brokeback Mountain is how much it's still on my mind 2 days later. I heard it was good, I knew it would be sad, I was sure I'd cry - all three are very very true. I was supsicious of the "it's more than just a gay story" (yeah, yeah, love IS universal; but I was glad to not have to do the usual translation from the str8 folks on the screen to my own same-sex feelings and experiences) stuff that the film's publicity machine was shoveling out (I know they have to do that, they gotta get people IN the theatres to get them to enjoy it). I think I was caught off guard in that it was much more than a love story, but more of a life story; and so deeply deeply sad - and it has made me so introspective the past 2 days I could scream. Which is fine, I guess. I mean, it's amazing, but kinda scarey and difficult to have all this stuff swirling around in your head. Maybe I was already going in that direction and the film just pushed me over the edge into "why is my life like this?" territory..... Then, last night, I just had to find one of the great tracks from the film's soundtrack - He Was a Friend of Mine - and surprise surprise, my eyes get all heavy and full and wet each time it plays. You'd think I'd stop playing it then, eh?

And to his reindeer, say, "Oh Pancho, Oh! Vixen, Oh! Pedro, Oh! Blitzen," Ole! Ole! Ole!
grrrrr! I tried - I really, really tried! I was so happy to get my 12-inch Giant Single of Charo's "(Mamacita) Donde Esta Santa Claus?". And of course I planned on sharing it with y'all. But, alas, I just can't figure out how to connect the f*^kin' turntable to the P.C. to make an mp3!!! Maybe a pal of mine can do it for me, but that might not be in time for Xmas!!! arrrggghhhh!

SHHHH! they're strapping down Liza Minelli

Just a little musical number from The City of New York Vs. Homer Simpson, when the Simpsons go to New York, and stop off to see a Broadway musical, - "Kickin' It, (A musical journey through the Betty Ford center)". Ahhh, will this epsiode ever be aired again? (FOX, the protectors of all that is good and decent, pulled it from syndication not long after 9/11 - which, temporaily, I guess is understandable. So hard core fans have to deal with the bootleg versions you can find online, and wait for Season 9 to be released on DVD sometime in the next year or two, we hope.)

The Name of the Game is HIGH CARD
HEAT IN THE NIGHT

"Let's see who has the biggest cock - suck each other off, let me watch."

Director: Matt Sterling (1989)

Starring: Rex Chandler, Tom Steele, Tony Minetti, Brad Mitchell, Mike Anthony (AKA Michael Brawn), Lon Flexxe, Bill Crane, Ryan Edwards (AKA Beau Beaumont), Tommy Breitz, Bill Marlowe, Cal Jensen, Charley Stone, Dick Masters

Great little clip from this movie, in my humble opinion. Oh sure, the acting is bad, and what's with Tom Steele NOT slurping on one of those huge cocks in front of him? And, excuse me, Cal Jensen with the Speedo-Ad body, you win the game, how come you decide in this "no holds barred" scenario to dictate the other guys suck each other off, while you watch? Not exactly what I'd do faced with the schlongs of Michael Brawn (here listed as Mike Anthony - who, by the way, has his Fan Club up in Wisconsin, but I digress), Tom Steele, and Dick Masters (one of the few times in porn the name TOTALLY fits it's owner) - I mean, of course, if I weren't like seeing this totally great guy and ..... (hehe!) Anyway, despite the flaws, once you see Dick Masters chowing down on the other cocks, and OH-MY-GOD is Michael Brawn one of the best cocksuckers ever or what (apparently, it IS his favorite porn activity, and he LOATHES anal sex, as mentioned in the book Sorry I Asked - oops, digressing again) - look for him in the movie The International Guide to the Fine Art of Fellatio if you need confirmation of his skills) - OK, the setup: Rex Chandler is in jail, falls asleep, and dreams of 4 guys claiming to be the biggest - (notice he's not in the scene - HA!) - of course, they forget to actually try to demonstrate who IS, but we all know it's DICK MASTERS, right?

Of course, eBaying this.

gay?

It might look like the three gentleman in this lovely 70's photograph are gay, after all, they do have various fellow male body parts either in them, or on them.... BUT, this was the 70's and things were a bit mixed up back then. One needs to look further to determine if these men are indeed "GAY" or merely "experimenting".... One needs to only take a closer look - not at the men, but the decor - here in the back at the right to see that, at least whoever owns the house and collects ROSEVILLE POTTERY is certainly a big ole' queer!

I don't mean to be neglectful, but alas - I give up trying to post another videoclip. It was cool, a brief clip from Tom DeSimone's Flesh and Fantasy - where hot, lightly hairy bearded foreman Randy Gutzman is made to service (then get topped by) two workers in a warehouse - Mike Cole and Rob Stevens. It's from a compilation video I am selling, call STUD HUNTERS - but I just can't get the recording device to work properly. Maybe tomorrow.

big load
had a really great afternoon earlier this week - had received an email a coupla weeks back from a neighborhood man who had a bunch of old porno he wanted to get rid of - LUCKY ME! So, we met up this week, and I hauled off a bunch of videos and magazines. Some are currently listed - see my EBAY PAGE here - but most will have to wait til after the holidays. I must say, I was afraid I was gonna scare the poor man- each video I picked up I rambled on about it - "Oh, TOILET TAMPS - Joey Stephano, Anthony Gallo - oooh, wait - that's TIJUANA Toilet Tramps - never mind", or "Oh My God! This is the full 88 minute version, IN THE BOX!!", or "Oh My - The Big One, with Sparky O-Toole, about an earthquake with real special effects, I was so sorry last time I sold this - this will have to be a keeper!" - but he was more than sweet and patient, and I think it was fun for both of us; besides the obvious part of getting a big haul of porno, it was nice for me to meet a nice man who shared my enthusiasm for this stuff, ya know?

ev'rytime we say goodbye

AIDS is a global emergency that now claims over 8,000 lives every single day; in fact, five (5) people now die of AIDS every single minute - total HIV cases to date, over 64 million, total AIDS deaths to date, over 23 million.

Please remember those who have died by fighting for the rights, health care, and dignity of those who are still living with AIDS. And please, PLAY SAFE.

I can't do personal rememberances this year; so for those who hadn't read my previous "WORLD AIDS DAY" posts, here are the links:
