Michael Christopher

Ahhhh, Michael Christopher! You may remember him from such films as Best Little Warehouse in L.A, JUICE, Fade In, Fade Out, GAYRACULA, Skin Deep, Trick Time, DOING IT, A Few Good Men and NOVA's How I Got the Story (among many others). I'd have to say my favorite performance of his was in Arthur Bressan, Jr.'s Pleasure Beach . He played the role of a gay lifeguard who works with straight lifeguard Johnny Dawes, who is annoyed and yet, ahem, rather curious, about Mr. Christopher's sexual escapades. By the film's end, they are in love, of course. Corny, but it works. (And don't forget the fantastic scene with sexy BEAU MATTHEWS - yum!) The pair also worked together in Lancer Brooks's (AKA Tom DeSimone) Skin Deep, where Dawes is a dirty book writer, and Christopher plays the hustler with a heart of gold that moves in with him. Oh, another good one to check out is Trick Time - not so much for the sex, but there's an actual interview with him (as well as Johnny Dawes) by Joey Yale and Fred Halsted - revealing Christopher to be quite a sweetheart!

The other day I think I mentioned watching a video called Gay Erotica From the Past 8 , which is a part of a series of videos showing gay movie clips from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. This particular video uses a lot of scenes from some film that uses Lou Reed's Transformer as the soundtrack. It's rather typical early 70's shaggy hair sex, but near the end of this clip, you'll see a silly little non-sex bit that I thought was too funny not to post!

Meanwhile, my bad news yesterday morning was that eBay had cancelled just about every auction I had running, due to a misinterpretation of a simple phrase I have been using in practically all my auctions for over a year now -
"I've been informed by eBay not to give graphic descriptions, or link to sites that give descriptions, so my apologies about being vague."
Seems innocuous enough, eh? They interpret this as me selling something I ought not, like hardcore, or gosh-knows what. I won't go into the long history of the ever-changing standards at eBay's adult section. I simply added that phrase when eBay stopped allowing sellers to be explicit with descriptions - i.e. Jon King spooges all over Michael Christopher then bends over for a good pounding.... you get the idea. Now I simply say - Jon King finishes up and gives Michael Christopher a chance to have some fun. So, gotta get real busy and clean-up all 15-20 auctions that were cancelled, then work on the ones that are backlogged.

And yesterday's mail surprise was the Simpsons 2nd Season DVD from a fantastic pal in the midwest (slurp!). I had my usual restless night in bed, followed by a few solid hours of sleep once the sun came up and I slept too late. yesterday was too, too exciting. one teeny tiny "bad" thing happened - a bike pedal got stolen (or fell off and walked away), so meeting my pal Mark for Indian dinner was a bit challenging, pedaling with only the left foot. Watched Arthur J. Bressan, Jr.'s Pleasure Beach last night. Even better than I had remembered, only I wish the scene between Michael Christopher and Beau Mattews was longer - but Mr Chrisptopher's cum shot!!! So I was trying to do a much smaller file, and leaving it in .avi format, but even when I shrunk the size of the picture, it's still too large for me to economically upload and host here (not that I'm complaining that I have more than a few dozen readers who come and enjoy the movie clips...). So, I think I will leave the problem til next week. It's just that it's a great, classic example of the Nova style: slo-mo, 2 or 3 viewpoint cumshot on the face, which we all love, right? But even taking out Beau's shot on Michael's face, and just paring it down to Michael shooting on Beau, it's still a teeny tiny frame, taking up 11kb's, and lasting a mere 1 minute, 20 seconds - it would be unconscionable to make the clip smaller or shorter!

In this film, each man cums twice, and in the obligatory "facial" style that Nova is known for - the second time Matthews cums, Mr Christopher's tongue is twirling slo-mo, anxiously awaiting the flood - just wonderful film-making, you know? You want plot, I'll give you plot. A villainess drag queen (played incredibly by Christopher Rage) has a plan to kidnap a government scientist who's developed a drug to eliminate the (male) sex drive. But secret agent Clark (Kirk Luna) is on the case. Sounds amazing, with a screenplay by Christopher Rage, over 50 people in the cast, great cameo appearance by Peter De Rome (who directed such fantastic films as Adam & Yves, The Destroying Angel and had a plan that never materialized to make a gay porno version of Grand Hotel! - he even had preliminary talks with BRUNO to be in it.... oh, but I digress), a fantastic original score by David Earnest, and fantastic, fantastic editing by the director's lover, Bob Alvarez (who I think has been assisting BIJOU VIDEO in their efforts to re-release the HAND IN HAND film catalogue on DVD. Even Jack Brusca had his hand in this, designing the titles, as well as allowing his artwork to be used as backdrops. It's just a fantastic film, more than sex, but an actual peak at gay life in the 70's (OK, so we didn't all hang around drag queens stealing government secrets, nor have great Manhattan apartments; but heck, whadyawant from me?).... Enjoy the clip, and Yes, yes, I'm selling on eBay.

box o' porn

Just received this box o' porn this morning. I am quickly (as quickly as one can get thru porno) trying to skim thru and see that these are in good shape, etc. But I must say so far, so very very good! I got these for somewhat different reasons, but primarily because I was hoping they were older, full versions of these films. It's one of my porno pet peeves, videos that have parts of the original film or video missing. Midnite Men is notorious for selling older tapes with anywhere from 10-25 minutes missing from the original. I realize that for a few films, this is done for 'legal' purposes - the films contain a watersports or fisting scene, and distributing these types to some states can cause legal hassles -- so I understand that. But more often it's someone got a copy of a chopped of film or tape, or worse, just don't want to bother with tapes longer than 60 minutes, and reproduced it.

Like Something Wild. I bought this tape a couple years back, actually for a friend who had been searching for years for this, something he remembered fondly from his youth. Alas, it was missing big chunks. Since then, I have scoured eBay, and other sources, looking for this and other titles in their older packaging in the hopes that it would have the full version. Woo-Hoo! I just skimmed thru this one, and it clocks in at about 115 minutes. And I am waiting confirmation of this, but it looks like ------ gosh, those Bijou Video folks are great - I just got an email confirming they indeed have the full version. The wonderful (I say wonderful, not just cuz the answer was quick, and thorough, but if you search around their site, you'll see his pics, too!) customer service guy goes on to say that all their NOVA titles are full, unedited versions (I knew that about Brian's Boys - often sold elsewhere as Brian's Men with 20 minutes missing!). And I'll tell ya, I've emailed Bijou Video before and gotten quick, thorough answers each time.

And I'm rambling, but I guess that's what I do. Anyhoo - the other stuff. Gayracula - this one I discovered was being sold missing parts because I sold a copy on eBay to a young man, who, after viewing it, emailed me that it seems like there's stuff missing. A quick timing of my copy in my collection confirmed he was right - the newer, HIS Video version was missing pieces. The full version (I just timed the one I got in the mail today) should be 82 minutes. Grrrrr. I've found this problem in tons of other stuff from HIS video - Dreamer, 501, El Paso Wrecking Corp, the list goes on... Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, the five tapes I got in the mail today. Daddy Dearest - IMfuckingPOSSIBLE to find, I've only seen it on eBay twice in 3 years (I won't say where those two copies are now, that would be bragging...), and have yet to see it elsewhere. This I remember so distinctly seeing when it came out, sitting in the Jewel Theatre on 3rd Ave in NYC not long after I moved here. ahhhhhh.... OK OK. Trick Time - I had a copy of this Halted/Yale production, but sold it on eBay. I regretted that, but now I have the bigger boxed version, and the reproduction quality seems better, but don't know if there's any real difference between the two. I'm glad to have it now, it's one of the last ones that Halsted filmed, and it also includes brief interviews of Michael Christopher, Tim Kramer (snore), and Johnny Dawes. And it also has a movie trailer for a great early 80's Michael Zen film, Falconhead Two - The Maneaters. Look for that trailer here, soon. I would love a full version of that (yup, HIS has skimmed off 15-20 minutes here, too).

I am not sitting here on a beautiful, finally humid-free, 68 degree sunny day watching porno. I'm not. But I was trying to verify the cast listing for Steve Scott's Games, and oddly enough my Steve Scott page has Michael Christopher listed! That can't be true! So I dug into the closet, dug out one of the boxes of stored porno, found my bootleg (shhhhh) copy of Games and here I sit admiring Al Parker's amazing cocksucking in the intro scene, but then had to force myself to hit the STOP button when I got to the Mike Davis giving Johnny Dawes a massage scene. Gosh, not knowing what happens next is killing me, but I must get out of the apartment and get some fresh air and exercise.

HOW I GOT THE STORY

Just a quickie here, that clip I mentioned last week from Nova Films, How I Got The Story, with Michael Christopher and Beau Matthews. You'll notice that there is no "live sound" just music that isn't quite timed right (it fades out during the ejaculation, that fades back in), which means it was probably added when the film got transferred to tape (but that's just a guess on my part). This particular video cassette I have is a more recent one released by the evil Midnight Men company - like HIS Video, they often do a shoddy job, and in this case, there are supposed to be 3 loops on the tape, but the tape stops suddenly, cutting off the last 5 minutes of the 3rd segment. Grrrrrrrrr! So, buyer beware - if you can, try to look for an "L A Video", "ADI", or "NOVA" label on the cassette itself, and you're more likely to get the complete film.

One of the last great porn films, opening with monks in robes carrying Gayracula's coffin, and Tim Kramer turning into a bat and flying away just before the monks are able to put a stake through his heart! Part of the action takes place in 1783, with Kramer having sweaty sex with Steve Collins (as the Marquis de Suede); but, afterwards, Kramer notices something on his neck that isn't quite a hickey! Then in present day Los Angeles (1983), they meet up again. Purposely corny, it's a fun film that actually has some great sex in it.
